9.5% APY까지 가능한 BlockFi Interest Account 소개

먼저 BlockFi소개하기 전에 한 가지 알아야 할 것. BlockFi Interest Account (BIA)는 FDIC나 SIPC 보험이 되지 않는 상품으로 원금을 보장받지 못할 가능성이 있다는 것을 먼저 알아야 할 것 같다.

BlockFi는 기본적으로 코인거래소이다. 코인베이스나 바이낸스와 같은 큰 대형 거래소들이 있으니 코인 거래를 위해서는 굳이 BlockFi를 쓸 필요는 없겠지만, 9.5%까지 APY를 준다는 것은 이거 놓치기 아까운 부분일 것이다.

물론 Savings의 모든 금액을 여기에 넣는 것은 원금손실에 따른 위험이 도사리고 있으니 전체 세이빙의 10% 정도만 이곳에 예치한다면 나머지 90%에서 1% 이자를 받는 것과 10%에서 9.5%의 이자는 결국 비슷한 이자금액을 얻을 수 있고 위험도 분산할 수 있는 좋은 방법일 거라는 생각이 든다.

그렇게 해서 일단 1000불정도를 시험 삼아 투자를 해보았다. 현재 저축한 돈의 원금과 약간의 이자는 GUSD (Gemini라는 Stable Coin으로 USD와 1:1로 연동이 되는 코인이다)로 담겨 있고 나머지 106.12불은 BTC (비트코인)으로 담겨 있다.

구체적인 이자율 비교표를 살펴보자. 필자는 일단 Tier 1 BTC를 이자로 받는 것으로 해서 4.5%의 이자를 받는 것으로 되어 있다. 아래 표에서 알 수 있듯이 최대 9%까지 이자를 받을 수 있는 듯 하다. Amount는 본인이 보유한 종목을 뜻하는 듯하고 보유한 종목의 수량에 따라 약간 차등화된 이자율을 받는다고 보면 될 듯하다. USDC나 GUSD와 같은 스테이블 코인으로 이자를 받는 것도 한 가지 방법이 될 수 있으나, 개인적으로는 비트코인이나 이더리엄으로 이자를 받는다면 업사이드 가능성이 훨씬 클 듯하여 현재는 비트코인으로 이자를 받는 것으로 세팅을 해놨다. 달라의 가치는 물가인상으로 인해 항상 우하향을 하니 기본적으로 그 논리가 맞을 듯하다.

인출수수료에 관한 도표도 첨부한다. 사실 아직 현금화한 적이 한 번도 없지만 필요하다면 참고해야 할 것 같고 약간의 수수료가 있다는 것을 감안해야 할 듯하다.

어떤 사람은 어떻게 이렇게 높은 이자를 줄 수 있을까 궁금해할 듯. 기본적으로 코인 투자를 레버리지를 통해서 하는 사람들이 꽤 많고 그 사람들에게 본인의 자산을 빌려주고 이자를 받는다고 생각하면 이해가 좀 쉬울 듯하다. 물론 스테이블코인자체가 기본적으로 이 레버리지형태로 항상 달라와 1:1로 유지되게끔 되어 있는 상품이라 이 마진이나 레러리지에 대한 수요는 항상 존재하는 듯 하다.

지난 4월부터 시작했으니 상당한 이자가 벌써 생긴 듯 하다. 벌써 10%가 넘는 이자를 받았다니! 아 물론 신용카드를 통한 비트코인 적립도 포함돼서 약간 부풀어졌을 가능성도 있겠다.
